NSMB: When did you start riding the Shore? What was that first ride like?
JW: I started riding the Shore around 4 years ago on a DC Hummer. Fell in love instantly. Mission in life was to move to the mecca.

NSMB: Where do you ride?
JW: I live in North Van so the Shore is where it's at.

NSMB: What sort of riding do you like?
JW: Fast flowy trails are my favorite but I love riding the stunt trails as well (Jerry-Rig, Circus, GMG). Just being out ripping with the bros is what I like.

NSMB: What would be your perfect trail ?
JW: Disneyland without the uphills. Throw in the odd gap and skinny to please.

NSMB: Do you get any bro deals?
JW: John Henry rocks !

NSMB: What's your typical day like?

JW: I work the graveyard shift (10 to 6), so I sleep until noon or so and then, depending on the time of year, ride or build. Then I eat, crash for a couple and then go to work. NSMB: What is the best move you've managed to pull?
JW: 20 years ago I was lake jumping in Kal Lake and I pulled off an inverted table top. It's been downhill ever since. Oh yeah, Richie Schley was there.

NSMB: Who are your riding bros?
JW: Gabe and Mike (GMG boys), Wham, Social Dave, Aurelio, Fred and whole wack of others including Danger, Geoff G. and T-Bone.

NSMB: What is your favourite video - and why?
JW: NSX vids. I can watch them over and over, I know a lot of the riders and Digger rocks !

NSMB: Why do you think the bike industry doesn't shell out more money to sponsor riders like BMX skateboarding and snowboarding?
JW: I actually think the bike industry should shell out more cash towards the trails. I strongly believe that filmers should also help out the builders as well.

NSMB: Do you participate in trail building? If so, what's your vision of the perfect trail?
JW: I've been known to pound a few nails. The trail I've been working on for a couple of years has been on NSX 6 and 7 and on NWD 4. Gotta thank Digger for his helpful hints. You guys should interview him; no one knows the Shore like Diggs.

NSMB: You just won the lottery. What would you do with the loot ?
JW: Hire a secret trail building crew.

NSMB: What is your take on the political scene on the North Shore?
JW: I hope we don't have a Fromme Massacre.

NSMB: Ever race ?
JW: Just once. It was a toonie race in Rossland 3 or 4 yrs back. I fell twice but won by 4 seconds.

NSMB: What is your most treasured bit of riding gear?
JW: My Hoots pads… Hootie rocks !

NSMB: Tell us about your all injuries.
JW: Broken collarbone and wrist (damn Kamloops). Branch through my arm. Tweaked ankles and a lacerated urethra. I wear a cup now.

NSMB: Words of wisdom to the NSMB staff or readers?
JW: Just give'r !

NSMB: Last but not least, why do you ride?
JW: If I didn't ride, I'd probably be in jail.
