Money Shot Week 7 Winner
Dylan 'Stubs' Dunkerton lays it down
Words by Dylan 'Stubs' Dunkerton. Photos by Wk 7 Shooters.
Dylan Dunkerton - or Stubs as he's known to his friends - was a finalist in last year's Money Shot comp. Most of his experience is with moving pictures but it turns out he's got an eye for stills as well. Dylan's talents extend in front of the lens as well. On top of editing and shooting with Bjørn Enga for Kranked 7, Dylan appears in the film with nsmb team rider Curtis Robinson. Since last year Dylan's been riding with us, shooting for us and he's generally become part of the nsmb family. This of course dq'ed him from Money Shot this year and made him a perfect candidate to judge this week's submissions. Have a look at Stubs' choices and browse his reasons as well. Once you're done weigh in with your verdict here.
Note - we have made the decision, based on some research, to give the win this week to the second place photo based on evidence that Damien Rosso is more pro than this contest allows.
This week's winner will receive a pair of burly yet light Syncros Mental Magnesium pedals.
Disqualified - See second place for the new winner.
This was the first image that caught my eye while scanning through the week 7 gallery. What an unreal piece of rock, a shot like this just makes me wish I was there riding. Rosso’s use of framing in this shot draws you eye right into the subject. The image has great contrast, the colours pop and the composition is spot on. How can you go wrong with that? New Week 7 winner
I’m a sucker for shots with a lot of movement but I had a hard time deciding between this and the winner. Normally any point of view shots in my opinion look to un natural, but this one is different. This shot reminds of nothing but summer ripping. The sun flare only adds to the warm feel of this image, not to mention the grassy piece of single track up ahead. It just gets me stoked. Runner Up 2
I have a great appreciation for film shots is this day an age of digital. Love the cross processing, wicked saturation and contrast. The leading piece of single track draws your eye right into the rider and the path ahead of him. Josh was a finalist in last years money shot, usually shooting b&w, but now im stoked to see some vibrant colors from him. Rider ~ Daniel Toumine. Photo ~ Joshua Weber
Runner Up 3
Looks like a pinner trail with a sick step up, makes me want to ride! The motion in this shot is sick; it clearly captures the speed of the riders and the scale of the gap. B&W just works for this shot. Riders ~ Zach and friend. Photo ~ Tyler Reid
Runner Up 4
Another film shot that just makes me want to pin it. You can never go wrong with single track! It makes me dream of drifting. Rider ~ Ray Bobb. Photo ~ Tyler Reid

There you have it. We are in the final week of prelims right now and once we've sorted the week eight winner, the April finalists (we'll choose two) and the wildcard for the finals we'll stage a throwdown of sorts between the five shooters still standing.
